Who goes to Church at the Rockhouse?
Everyone is welcome. Generally, the gathering is usually made up of students: undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students. We are a conglomeration of people from various nations, cultures and ethnicities, with differing personalities and interests, all at different stages in our journey to become more like Jesus.
What is Sunday service like and what kind of music do they play?
A lot of what happens on Sunday mornings resembles what you may have experienced in other churches. We generally spend time in song, giving God praise and submitting ourselves to Him in worship together, as one body. Some students are gifted musically with various instruments, so we usually have a band that uses their gifts in this area. We celebrate communion each week, remembering the sacrifice of Jesus, through which we are able to be reconciled to God. We are also encouraged and challenged as someone teaches each week (usually Mike) from the Bible.
What group or denomination is it a part of?
Christ on Campus is a non-denominational ministry. As an organization, Christ on Campus is supported financially through the generous giving of many individuals and churches. Many of these churches are independent Christian Churches, which are themselves somewhat inter-connected, though not in a strict denominational structure. As far as the individuals that support the ministry of Christ on Campus, many different church families, denominational and non, are represented. Also, the students that are actively involved in the ministry come from a variety of church backgrounds, as well from no church background what-so-ever.
